Quality makes all the difference
Galvanised sheets are a critical component of any HVAC ducting system. The quality of G.I. sheets used in air conditioning applications therefore be of such standards to ensure:
- Leakproof joints
- Corrosion resistance
- Ductability
- Foldability, lock forming
- Anti-strain ageing
Galvanised sheets of commercial grade available in the mass market do not fully meet the above requirements and hence are prone to early corrosion resulting in leakage and a short life span. Decades of research and development work done by the steel mills along with the practical experience of the HVAC contractors worldwide have narrowed down the optimum specifications for galvanized sheets to ensure trouble free and an extended life for HVAC ducting systems. These specifications are:
- As per ASTM/ JIS/ BS standards
- Lock forming Quality
- Zinc coating (Z27)
- Mill treated with chrome passivation and spangle finish.
